Accolades & Tales
Excellent value! Comfortable & clean, serviced chalets with good facilities. Ablution and kitchen facilities are excellent. (Nona enjoyed all the hot water on tap!). The fridge & freezer facilities are top notch together with the cooking utensils and gas cookers provided.
Being a keen off-road camper I am equally impressed by the large level camp sites and the kitchen / ablution facilities provided. Just the kind of thing you need after a long drive through the bush!!
Wonderful fishing was experienced with knowledgeable boat skippers who know all the best fishing spots. Boats with new motors are provided; with all the right lures on hand. Managed to catch a couple of Tiger fish on fly!
We experienced excellent bird watching along the river with the bonus of the most beautiful African sunsets imaginable. A sunset barge cruise is a must, as this gave us ample time to savour the prolific bird life and enjoy a couple of well earned sundowners.
Hope to be back soon to catch the “big one” that bust me up!
Thank you all for a trip of a lifetime.
Tony & Nona SharplesAfter a rough ride in the sand I managed to ride my bike to the Kabula Lodge. I had e very friendly reception from Kennister. It made the ride worth while.
Best regards
Martin MuenchWe spent four nights during July 2007 camping on the beautiful grassed and shaded campsites at Kabula. We were a large group of 21 people and there was more than enough space for us to avoid falling over one another and to enjoy hot showers without having to wait for water to heat up. The tranquility was magical and evening sundowners on the deck in front of the pub provided some special moments.
The tiger fishing was wonderful. Nobody in our group had ever tiger fished before but that did not stop every person who tried their hand at it from catching at least one tiger! Thanks to the experienced boatmen who seemed to know exactly where to find these fish.
We will definitely be back
Mike CroeserThey say at the end of a rainbow you will find a “pot of gold” so it is with Kabula Lodge for at the end of the road or a little beyond, you will find this “Heaven on Earth”. As the early morning mist burns off, the mighty Zambezi beckons fisherman to hunt their trophy tigers.
Opportunities abound for “twitchers” and tree lovers, and there’s always the option to soak up the scene from the privacy of your own comfortable rustic lodge or from a well appointed campsite situated under giant Rosewoods and any number of other magnificent trees.
We will be back again and again!
Pelham and Cheryl HenwoodThe new year has come about very quickly, and once again it is time to think about the holidays for the year. First choice is obviously a return to Kabula: Is it possible to book 2 chalets for Thursday 24 September09 to Mon 28 September 09 (included, departing on tues 29th). We will be 5 or 6 people, and therefore need at least one 3 or 4 sleeper if possible. If the accommodation is available, I would like to immediately confirm boat bookings for this period as well. I have included some photos from our previous trip which I would appreciate you passing on to Royd and George. I apologise for the files being so big, but we are not computer literate enough to reduce the pixels on the pictures. Please let Royd know he seems to have created a fishing frenzy in our family: on returning from Kabula last year we all had to rush out and buy similar tackle as he has,as I landed up borrowing his from him. We also stocked up on Rapalas. Our success at Kabula prompted a big contest between our friends and we enjoyed New Year at Jozini this year where we indoctrinated the boat skipper into our trolling – and once again caught the biggest tiger -5.1kg.. We hope the Kabula family is all well, and hope to see you/them in September.
Jess MartinWe returned from our stay at Kabula last week, and once again we would like to thank you for a wonderful stay and compliment the staff!!! They were – if it is possible, even more friendly and helpful than our previous stay. We didn’t break any records in the weight of the fish caught, but we still caught a healthy number of fish and there were monsters that got away!!! We will be back!
Thanks and regards,
Dave, Jess and Andrew Martin
